Liam Gallagher ‘confirms’ Glastonbury Festival 2019 slot and all eyes are on Noel for Oasis reunion

After a storming Pilton Party set on Friday (August 31), Liam Gallagher has all but confirmed that he will be heading back to Glastonbury Festival, when it returns in 2019.

He thanked organisers Michael and Emily Eavis for inviting to play the celebratory gig and also said that he would see them next year when the ‘greatest show on Earth’ returns after a fallow year.

Liam tweeted: “Big thanx to the ever delightful Michael and Emily eavis for last night see you both nxt year [sic]”.

Of course, this has only fuelled speculation that 90’s superstars Oasis will be reforming and satisfying huge public demand to see Liam with his brother Noel, reunited once again.

Many of the replies to Liam’s announcement centred around whether Noel would be joining Liam on Worthy Farm.
Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds have been regulars at festivals for the past few years, so it would be no surprise if he pitches up in Glastonbury next June.

Of course, if this happens, the Oasis rumour mill will go into meltdown as the thought of the two brothers in the same place at the same time would be too good an opportunity to miss.

Bookmakers have been a little more coy about the Gallagher brothers reuniting on stage, despite Liam reaching out over the past few months, in a series of conciliatory social media posts.

Odds have been slashed on Kendrick Lamar and Stormzy being the main headline acts but all eyes are on Noel now, to see if he will reach out for the olive branch offered by his brother.

Glastonbury Festival’s return in 2019 is set to be one of the most spectacular for years and there could be a slice of music history, whoever treads the boards of the Pyramid Stage.
