Liam Gallagher says “beige boy” Noel is “begging” to play Glastonbury

Liam Gallagher has taken another swipe at his brother Noel, whilst also seeming to confirm both he and his brother will be playing Glastonbury next year.

Referring to his brother as “the beige boy,” Liam said Noel was “begging to play Glastonbury” before adding that Noel didn’t want to play “before or after” him for fear of embarrassment.

Gallagher wrote: “So I hear the beige boy is begging to play Glastonbury he doesn’t want to be going on before or after me as I’ll embarrass him as you were LG.”

The former Oasis man headlined Pilton Party for the festival with a career-spanning set after which he tweeted a strong hint that he could be back for Glastonbury next summer.

Liam gave thanks to Glastonbury organisers Emily and Michael Eavis, and then tellingly said: “see you both nxt year”, igniting rumours that he could be headlining the Pyramid in 2019.

Speaking to The Mirror Online earlier this week, Noel said he would “love” to play Glastonbury in 2019.

Noel said: “I would absolutely love to play Glastonbury next year. I love that festival but I’ll probably be fourth on the bill.”

Speaking at the VO5 NME Awards in February, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis dropped some hints about the festival’s 2019 headliners, stating there’ll be “two or three [acts] that have never played”.

Organiser Emily Eavis, meanwhile, told NME that they had “booked one headliner so far”, adding: “Headliners should be the best artists around – whether they’re rappers, pop stars or rock bands. The genre is irrelevant – it’s about who is going to produce the most exciting show and is making the best music.”
