Noel Gallagher about Oasis: “As a live band we got better as the songs got worse”

“Probably not in the very near future,” he replied. Adding, “one should never say never though, when someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion…”
“I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it,” he said of the potential reformation. “But there’s one that wouldn’t…me.”

He went on: “I do say: ‘We were together for 20 years, if you didn’t see us, tough…I didn’t get to see the Sex Pistols. The second lot of gigs we [Oasis] did at Wembley were infinitely better. As a live band, we got better – as the songs got worse.”
Moyles then asked Noel when he last saw his brother Liam to which he claimed he has not seen him since February of this year:”When City won the league about 8-9 months ago,” he replied. “I don’t hang out with my family, I never did…”
Recounting his time on tour with Oasis, Gallagher went on to reveal how the band would book one extra hotel room, so they could use it as ‘the party room’ before returning to their own, clean hotel rooms at the end of the night: “We’d book an extra suite, that would be the party room and we’d trash it, well not trash it, and then at 7am go back and we’d all have pristine hotel rooms.”
Chris Moyles launched Radio X this morning,, returning to radio after leaving Radio 1 in 2012. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are among the acts confirmed to play the first ever Radio X Road Trip. The tour will celebrate the relaunch of XFM as Radio X with dates running through November and December and Chris Moyles will preside over the gigs.
