Noel Gallagher says he has given his daughter a list of people to insult at Ed Sheeran’s gig.

After the feud between Noel Gallagher and Ed Sheeran (if you don’t know what we are talking about, read here), Noel has been asked if he will be going to the Ed Sheeran gig at Wembley, which Sheeran offered him tickets to.

“No no,” he answered “they’re for my daughter. She’ll be going and drinking his champagne and possibly playing Top Trumps with James Blunt in the dressing room afterwards. I’ve given her a list of people to insult while she’s there.”

He then went on “I won’t be going. I will be playing no doubt to a far lesser crowd that night in a festival in Azerbaijan somewhere for half the fee and twice the stress. No doubt I’ll be reading about it in some newspaper and feeling slightly less legendary than I did that morning.”

Noel discussed the state of charts music, whose quality declined, according to him.
“Sometimes when I have this debate, when I say I’m not into pop music, I think to myself, Well, I am into pop music. We’re all into pop music. We were brought up on everything from Elvis to the Sex Pistols to Nirvana and The Smiths, which were all pop music. It’s just that now the charts for the first time in history are completely dominated by major label acts who have teams of songwriters and employ major label thinking, and it all sounds the same.”
