Set during the famous Britpop era, the musical will explore the fierce competition between two of Britain’s greatest bands. The production promises to capture the energy, drama, and passion of the 90s music scene.
John Niven, best known for “Kill Your Friends,” will collaborate with renowned playwright Luke Barnes. Together, they will bring this unforgettable story to life on stage.
The show, currently titled “Britpop: The Musical,” will feature classic songs from both bands. Expect to hear hits like “Wonderwall” and “Parklife” as the story unfolds.
The musical will not only focus on the bands but also highlight the cultural explosion of the 90s. Fashion, politics, and youth rebellion will play a big role.
Producers aim to open the show in London’s West End. An official release date has not been announced yet.
