Courtney Love shared a story about spending a wild night with Liam Gallagher and he played a early version of “Songbird.”

A Memorable Night in London
The Hole rocker remembered staying up all night with the Oasis frontman. During the early 2000s, they partied together in London. The event resurfaced after Liam Gallagher‘s “Down By The River Thames” concert aired on December 5.
On Instagram, Courtney Love shared a photo of herself with Liam and wrote:
“00. @liamgallagher, and a cheesy snakeskin top from a night market in Juan-les-Pins (South of France)…”
She recalled looking for Liam Gallagher that evening. Her friend Julie Whitebread found him within 20 minutes.
A Night of Rock ‘n’ Roll and an Early Version of “Songbird”
After meeting Liam Gallagher, Courtney Love spent a night filled with music and excess. She described how, at sunrise, they were the only two left.
She wrote:
“As the sun was coming up, he grabbed a guitar. I had just played ‘Hold Onto Me,’ my first love song. Then, he played ‘Songbird.’”
She recalled thinking:
“Liam’s the talent! Not Noel! (Though, to be fair, it’s both.)”
Months later, Liam Gallagher released “Songbird.” However, Courtney Love believed a tempo change had altered its magic.
Julie Whitebread Confirms the Story
In the comments, Julie Whitebread confirmed the events and added:
- She found Liam Gallagher in just five minutes by calling Alan McGee.
- She was pushed airborne into the car, and they have a photo of it.
- Liam Gallagher made her enter a house with two giant mastiffs before sneaking in behind her.
- There might have been a fight about Eminem between her, Terry, and Liam.
Liam Gallagher’s Reaction
Liam Gallagher hasn’t commented on the story yet. However, he did thank fans on Twitter after his MelodyVR live stream. He also expressed excitement about returning to real concerts in the summer.
