Foo Fighters drummer criticizes Noel Gallagher for insult towards Dave Grohl: “F*** that guy.”
In 2019, Gallagher commented on Grohl after the Foo Fighters expressed interest in a petition to reunite Oasis.
Dave Grohl announced during their 2019 Reading Festival performance that he wanted to start a petition for an Oasis reunion. Later, Noel Gallagher responded at a San Diego concert, saying: “I hereby start a petition to break up the Foo Fighters. Anyone free can f***ing sign it.”
At another performance in Irvine, California, Gallagher remarked, “If the drummer from Nirvana wants Oasis to reunite, he can come on stage and suck my fing d.”
Two years later, Taylor Hawkins addressed these comments in an interview with Metro. He expressed being protective of his friend, Dave Grohl. He said, “Noel Gallagher said some s*** and has always talked s*** about us. So instead of being politically correct… Nah, f*** that guy.”
In 2019, Hawkins also spoke out on Radio X, calling Gallagher “really mean” and “a jerk.” At the time, the 48-year-old also stated, “I’m Team Liam,” referencing Liam Gallagher of Oasis, whom he supported during the band’s notorious split in 2009.
