Liam Gallagher said that he has no more ‘olive branches’ to offer to his older brother Noel.
The Gallagher brothers have been estranged since the Britpop band broke up in 2009. Liam has repeatedly voiced his wish to reunite.
In an interview with “The Independent” to promote his collaboration with John Squire of The Stone Roses, he spoke about Noel.
Liam Gallagher said that he has no more ‘olive branches’ to offer to his older brother Noel.
“Haven’t seen him for ages,” Liam said. “I think he was at my mum’s last weekend. He seems happier.”
Asked if he would break the stalemate, Liam responded: “Not me. All my olive branches are gone. I’ve got none left.”
Despite this, the former Beady Eye singer said he would be happy if his brother reached out.
“One hundred per cent. He’s my brother, I love him,” he said.
Rumors of an Oasis reunion have continued since their split, but their feud remains an obstacle.
In January, Liam said his life “caved in” when Noel left the Oasis.
In 2009, Noel announced his departure, stating: “I simply could not go on working with Liam another day.”
Addressing claims that his behavior caused the split, Liam said: “That’s what made Oasis great. Noel changed.”
Liam claimed they were offered £100m to reunite, which Noel allegedly turned down.
However, Noel denied this during “The Jonathan Ross Show”: “There isn’t £100m in the music business.”
“If someone offers me £100m now, I’ll say it: I’ll do it. I’d do it for £100m,” Noel said.
The last Oasis show was at V Festival in Staffordshire on August 22, 2009.
They closed their set with “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, “Champagne Supernova”, and “I Am the Walrus” by The Beatles.
