Liam Gallagher performs “Lyla” and “Columbia” solo for the first time

Oh, it’s good to be back. Ex-Oasis man Liam Gallagher has been delving into the bands eclectic back catalog as of late and did just that during an intimate show at Hackney’s Round Chapel. He even performed “Lyla” and “Columbia” for the first time as a solo artist.

Hackney’s Round Chapel is also the very same venue where Oasis filmed the music video for the 2005 single “Lyla” from ‘Don’t Believe The Truth‘. Liam explained the significance of the venue, the led the band straight into the track, as you can imagine fans were on board straight away and joined in for a mass singalong. The last time Liam played “Columbia” was with his former band Beady Eye  in 2013.

The lucky audience also got to see Liam perform his new single “Shockwave” for the first time, this came ahead of its official release tomorrow, Friday June 7th.

It’s not the first time we’ve got a preview of “Shockwave,” Liam teased fans via his Instagram page last week, May 30th, when he uploaded a 50-second preview of the track in a live-stream that was looked as if it was filmed in a pub garden.
