Liam Gallagher has made a surprising claim about how much he earned for one of Oasis’ biggest shows.

In a recent interview, Liam Gallagher revealed that he was paid just £25,000 for the band’s legendary Knebworth performance in 1996. The gigs, attended by over 250,000 fans, are considered some of the most iconic concerts in British rock history.

Speaking on the Matt Morgan podcast, Liam Gallagher said:

“I think I got 25 grand for Knebworth. That’s all I got.”
“It was all about the music. I didn’t care about money.”

The statement shocked many fans, considering the scale and cultural impact of the Knebworth shows. But Liam Gallagher insisted he never did it for the paycheck.

He explained that, at the time, he was more focused on being in the moment. For him, the experience mattered more than financial gain.

The Oasis shows at Knebworth Park spanned two nights and drew massive crowds. They came shortly after the release of “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, which catapulted the band to superstardom.

Despite the low fee, Liam Gallagher doesn’t seem bitter. He called the gigs a spiritual experience and one of the proudest moments of his life.

“It was biblical,” he said.
“That’s all I needed.”

This candid confession adds another layer to the myth surrounding Oasis and their rise to fame. It also highlights Liam Gallagher’s passion for music over money.

His solo career continues to thrive, but he often looks back on the Oasis years with pride—and no regrets.
