Liam Gallagher’s dream wedding in Italy may be postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and nationwide lockdowns.

The 47-year-old Oasis star was planning to marry fiancée Debbie Gwyther, 37, this July in front of friends and family. The ceremony was set to take place in a romantic Italian location. But with Italy under strict COVID-19 restrictions, the couple may need to abandon their summer plans.

Liam and Debbie have been together for six years. The “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” singer proposed during a holiday on Italy’s Amalfi Coast in August 2019.

A source told The Sun on Sunday that the pair were frustrated but optimistic. “They both loved the idea of a romantic Italian wedding this summer but now the coronavirus situation has thrown a spanner in the works.”

The source added, “It is disappointing. But they are adamant their day – whenever it happens – will be perfect.”

Despite earlier claiming on Twitter that the wedding was still on, Liam appears to be rethinking the event. When a fan asked if the pandemic would affect their plans, Liam joked, “She ain’t getting off that lightly ha ha.”

Debbie, who once worked as Liam’s assistant, is said to be used to plans changing unexpectedly. The couple’s flexibility may help them through this disruption.

Liam has a complicated personal history, having previously been married to Patsy Kensit and Nicole Appleton, and fathering children with other partners. Still, his bond with Debbie has remained strong since 2013.

Although the wedding won’t happen as originally scheduled, the couple are determined to celebrate their love at a later date.
