Liam Gallagher watched “Poldark” during lockdown

Liam Gallagher has revealed that the he watched “Poldark” during the pandemic lockdown.

Former Oasis frontman revealed that the series starring Aidan Turner kept him entertained during the pandemic.

Liam Gallagher turned out to be an unexpected “Poldark” fan. The Oasis rocker kept himself busy during England’s second lockdown, which ended on Wednesday, December 2. Like many, he watched several series to pass the time during the coronavirus pandemic.

Interviewed by Johnny Vaughan of Radio X, he recommended some TV series. “I watched the one about prostitutes in London, ‘Harlots’—it was good […] and ‘Poldark’.”

Gallagher, who released “All You’re Dreaming Of”, added: “It was the recent one. Good. Watch it, mate.”

However, when it comes to TV, the “Supersonic” rocker admitted he’s fed up with COVID-19 news. “Everything about the vaccine and all that. The whole thing is a pain. Come on, just get on with it.”

While knowing how lucky he is, the 48-year-old said lockdown was “s***”. “Obviously, I’m very lucky. But it doesn’t matter how much money you’ve got. It was still s***. And it doesn’t matter how big your house is, how many Parkas or Adidas you have. It’s still s***, innit?”

When Johnny Vaughan disagreed about the Parkas, Gallagher joked: “But there’s nowhere to wear them, is there? They’re just looking at me like, ‘You going for a walk or not?’ It’s a nightmare.”

Despite most of the festive track being recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the initial vocals he recorded at home made the final cut!

“So we went into Abbey Road during lockdown,” he explained. “Loads of people with masks on to do the brass and all that. I did the vocals at Abbey Road, and they weren’t nearly as good as the ones I did at home in my boxers.”

“All You’re Dreaming Of”, available for streaming, will be released on vinyl on December 18. Proceeds from the song will be donated to Action For Children UK.

Gallagher said about the initiative: “I’ve got far too much,” joking: “I just looked over the wall at my gold Damien Hirst collection and Andy Warhol collection and thought, ‘F*** it, I’ve got enough!’”

Net proceeds from each download and stream will go to the charity until December 31, 2020.

With 476 services in UK communities, Action for Children provides practical and emotional support to young people. The coronavirus crisis has made life harder for vulnerable children, and the charity’s frontline staff have worked tirelessly to support them.
