Noel Gallagher paid tribute to David Silva as the Spanish star departed Manchester City, while also taking a cheeky dig at Jordan Henderson.

A Farewell to Manchester City’s Magician
Appearing on talkSPORT, lifelong Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher described David Silva as the most important player in the club’s modern era.
“He’s the greatest City player of all time,” Gallagher said. “No question. He transformed our football.”
Silva spent a decade at the club, winning 14 major trophies and becoming a symbol of the club’s rise to the top.
A Sharp Comparison With Henderson
During the conversation, Noel Gallagher couldn’t resist commenting on Jordan Henderson, who had recently been named the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year.
“Jordan Henderson? Come on, seriously?” Gallagher said.
“He’s a great lad and all that, but if you’re telling me he’s better than Silva, forget it.”
The remark quickly went viral on social media. While some saw it as disrespectful, many fans applauded Gallagher for defending Silva’s legacy.
David Silva’s Legacy in Manchester
Silva left Manchester City in 2020 after 10 unforgettable years. Known for his vision, technique, and class, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest Premier League midfielders ever.
Noel Gallagher, clearly emotional, said:
