Noel Gallagher about his third solo album: “Everything will be finished done by the time I go to Glastonbury in June”

Speaking to BBC Radio 6 Music, Noel Gallagher revealed that, after 2015’s Chasing Yesterday, he is going to complete his third solo album by next June.

“I think we’re into the home straight now ” he said “I’ve been given the deadline which is to have everything finished – mastered, artwork, videos, the lot – done by the time I go to Glastonbury in June”.

The former Oasis, who is now working with producer David Holmes, previously said he was hoping to finish the record by the end of this year, but now he wants everything ready before Glastonbury Festival.

Gallagher said more about the recording process adding: “All the songs that I was writing towards making a record have not been used because when we decided to make a record with David Holmes the way he works is that all the writing gets done in the studio. So I started this record at his house in Belfast. The process is the complete opposite to the way that I’ve always worked. With this, you have no idea what you’ve got until it’s there, and the end results are great because they’re constantly evolving.”

Previously Holmes expressed his opinion about the album too: “It’s going really good. We’re a good bit into it now, we’ve got nearly five tracks done now. People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, uptempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is quite fun.”

Noel Gallagher regularly goes to Glastonbury, but he gave no indication he’s going to perform there next year.
