Noel Gallagher doesn’t know if his mother is mad for his songs

Noel Gallagher said that his mother Peggy has never told him she likes his songs.

The former Oasis star wrote iconic rock anthems like “Live Forever”, “Wonderwall”, and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”. However, since the band’s debut album “Definitely Maybe” in 1994, his mother has never mentioned his music.

Noel Gallagher said that his mother Peggy has never told him she likes his songs.

Speaking on Matt Morgan’s podcast, Noel Gallagher said:

“My mum is very reserved, a bit like me. She’s never mentioned my music, not even once.”

At 53, Noel Gallagher still invites his mother to his concerts, but Peggy always declines. She finds it too emotional to watch him perform.

He added:

“Last time I played in Manchester, I asked, ‘Do you want to come?’ She said, ‘Oh no, I’ll start crying.’”

Peggy expressed pride for Noel Gallagher and his estranged brother Liam Gallagher in the documentary “As It Was”. The film covered Liam‘s solo career after Oasis split in 2009.

On camera, Peggy, who also has a third son, Paul, said:

“I’m very proud. I still get my tissues out every time they’re on TV.”
