Noel Gallagher has revealed he “really enjoyed” creating new music with The Black Keys.
The former Oasis rocker recently worked with Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney in the studio.
He shared fresh details about the project on Matt Morgan’s Patreon podcast.
“Recently, I was writing with The Black Keys,” said Noel.
“I’d never really met them before. That really did work.”
When asked about the sound, Gallagher explained:
“If you can imagine my good self and them, that’s what it is.
It’s not swampy blues, It’s not my kind of guitar-pop, It’s somewhere in between – it’s really f***ing good.”
Noel Gallagher also revealed a track title: “It’s Only Love That Matters.”
The Pretty Boy singer said:
“I’d met Patrick maybe once. They called my office to ask if I’d write with them.
I happened to be around and said, ‘Yeah, f*** it.’”
He continued:
“I grabbed a guitar and amp, went to the studio, and introduced myself.
There were four of them, and we went at it. We did three tunes in five days.”
Describing the process, Noel shared:
“Patrick and Dan would sit opposite each other. Someone played a drum beat.
Dan came up with chords, and I’d suggest changes. The tunes we’ve done together are pretty cool, I think.”
As for a release date, Gallagher said:
“I don’t know when they’re coming out. I’d say next year now. There was five of them and one of me.
I really enjoyed it.”
