Noel Gallagher has opened up about the longevity of his music career.

The musician, 54, revealed he’s “ready to call it a day” just days after Liam Gallagher, 47, claimed Noel “begged” him for an Oasis reunion.

Speaking on Matt Morgan’s Funny How? podcast, the High Flying Birds frontman admitted he sees himself cutting down his touring schedule.

“I’m ready to call it a day actually,” he confessed.

“What do you mean?” Matt asked.

“Touring for a while,” he responded, “I’m ready to take a big chunk of time off.”

Discussing if he’ll ever step down from performing, Noel revealed he’ll always pen tracks.

“I think I will always write. I’m too much of a control freak to have anyone else singing my songs.”

The star, who just supported U2 in Australia on their Joshua Tree tour, explained he wants to cut the number of live shows because he wants to spend more time with his family.

“I can see myself not producing as much material, and touring every five or six years instead of touring every two or three, he said.

“The tour next I’ll be 55/56, so by the end of that tour I’ll be 58. And that’s nearly 60. You don’t know how you’re going to feel physically.

“You’re gonna think, can I be f**king arsed to be away from the kids?”

Looks like the Oasis reunion is well and truly off, then.
