Oasis have confirmed a new film linked to their upcoming reunion tour with ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator..
The movie is created by Steven Knight, writer of Peaky Blinders. Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace will direct it.
They previously made Shut Up and Play the Hits, the LCD Soundsystem concert film from 2012.
The announcement comes despite Liam Gallagher denying rumors of a documentary last year.
In October, a fan on X asked:
“How’s the new doco filming going?”
He replied:
“We’re not doing 1. I’m not gonna be in it. I’m doing the gigs. There’s been enough said about this band. It’s time to get Rocking and Rolling, not yapping and scrapping.”
The Oasis Live ‘25 film has no title or release date yet and its format remains unconfirmed.
Magna Studios is producing the project, with distribution by Sony Music Vision.
A press release states, “No further details regarding the content of the film will be released at this moment in time.”
In 2023, Deadline reported that Apple TV+, Netflix, and Amazon wanted to secure the Gallagher brothers for a film about their reunion and tour.
The band was previously featured in Oasis: Supersonic (2016), which chronicled their career.
Oasis announced their reunion tour in August, revealing U.K. dates first. They later added North American concerts in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Steven Knight is best known for creating Peaky Blinders. He has written and directed films and TV shows like Taboo, Maria, A Thousand Blows, and Eastern Promises. He also directed Locke, starring Tom Hardy. Southern and Lovelace recently made Meet Me in the Bathroom (2022), a documentary about the early 2000s New York City music scene.
