Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher delivered an unforgettable moment at Oasis first show in 16 years.

The iconic brothers performed at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, where 75,000 fans witnessed a powerful tribute to tragic football star Diogo Jota.

During their legendary hit Live Forever, a large image of the Liverpool striker appeared on the big screen. The crowd fell silent, many overcome with emotion.

Jota, just 28, died in a horrific car crash in Spain alongside his brother Andre Silva. Fans described the Oasis tribute as “beautiful” and “heartbreaking.”

One attendee shared: “The Live Forever tribute for Jota was on a different level. May his soul rest in peace.”

Another wrote: “Oasis just dedicated Live Forever to Diogo Jota. Literally brought a tear to my eye.”

The band’s emotional tribute follows a long tradition. Oasis first used Live Forever to honour music legends like Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, and John Lennon back in 1996.

More recently, Liam Gallagher performed the song for victims of the Manchester bombing in 2017. In 2022, he dedicated it to Taylor Hawkins, the late Foo Fighters drummer.

The Cardiff show opened with F**n’ in the Bushes and media headlines flashing across big screens. The brothers then launched into Hello, with Liam declaring: “It’s good to be back!”

The setlist included Acquiesce, Morning Glory, and Some Might Say. Fans went wild, singing every word.

Famous faces like Danny Dyer, Vicky McClure, and Louis Tomlinson were spotted among the crowd.

For Cigarettes & Alcohol, Liam urged fans to jump, shaking the stadium floor. The energy stayed electric through Fade Away, Supersonic, and Roll With It.

Noel Gallagher delivered acoustic classics Talk Tonight, Half The World Away, and Little By Little. Fans loved his flawless vocals and guitar work.

The brothers shared smiles and nods throughout the set. They reunited for Do You Know What I Mean, Stand By Me, and Cast No Shadow.

Oasis, who sold over 70 million records worldwide, announced their reunion last year. Their album Definitely Maybe hit No. 1 again, while Live Forever re-entered the Top Ten singles chart.

The emotional Cardiff show marked the beginning of their reunion tour. More dates follow, including Heaton Park in Manchester on July 11.

The Gallagher brothers are expected to earn over £50 million through the tour, endorsements, and merchandise.

But for fans, it’s not about the money. It’s about the music, the memories, and the emotion of moments like their tribute to Diogo Jota.

Oasis are back. The music lives on. And so does Jota’s memory.
