Pilton Party 2018: Deleted tweet suggests former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher will perform at this year’s event

A deleted tweet from the official Pilton Party Twitter account suggests former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher will perform at this year’s event.

The one-day festival on Friday, August 31, is Glastonbury Festival’s annual “thank you” fundraising gig for villagers, workers and local people.

Thousands of local people attend the Worthy Farm event which often attracts high-calibre acts.

News of the possible high profile appearance appeared to leak out during an audition events held in the village of Pliton on Saturday (June 30).

Seven unsigned bands faced off at Pilton Working Men’s Club on for a chance to play at Pilton Party.

Burnham-on-Sea band Some Villians and country singer Katy Hurt won the competition.

A tweet confirmed the two acts will play in August but also tagged the Brit Pop icon’s Twitter account.

The post, with two photos of the winning acts, posted on Saturday (June 30) read: “Winners and joining Liam Gallagher at Pilton Party will be Some Villains and Katy Hurt”.

The tweet was since deleted and replaced – without Liam Gallagher tagged.

The replacement tweet read:

“Thanks for a great night, Michael Eavis with Some Villains and Katy Hurt”, published on Sunday (July 1).
