Reports from Australia’s Noise11 claimed that a “UK rock band from the 90s with a very close connection to Liam Gallagher” had been “tapped as the opening act” for Oasis reunion shows, and Ride was alluded as the band in question.

Ride’s Andy Bell has been a member of Oasis from 1999 to 2009. He played also in Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eye, until their split.
Ride reformed in 2014 and released a 25th anniversary edition of their first album “Nowhere” last year.

Ride have responded to the rumors that they’ve been contacted to support Oasis during a reunion tour.
A spokesperson stated: “This is new to us!”

Recently, “Supersonic” director Matt Whitecross claimed that a Oasis reunion is more likely to happen when there’s less pressure on the Gallagher brothers to do so.
