Rumors of Oasis’ 30th anniversary Knebworth gig shut down

Rumors about Oasis planning a 30th-anniversary concert at Knebworth have been denied.

Rumors about Oasis planning a 30th-anniversary concert at Knebworth have been denied.

A viral poster appeared online, allegedly from Knebworth House, reading: “This is History August 2026.” Many believed it hinted at 30 years since Oasis played two record-breaking shows on August 10-11, 1996, for 250,000 fans.

Speculation grew as Oasis is preparing for a comeback world tour, and the dates align perfectly.

However, Knebworth House told Rolling Stone AU/NZ that the poster is fake.

“As much as we would love to welcome Oasis for a 30th-anniversary show in 2026 and discuss dates with promoters, this report is fake news,” the statement read.

Knebworth House’s X account did not post this.”

The rumors followed Liam Gallagher’s 2022 return to Knebworth for two concerts, which led to a live album and documentary.

Earlier, a documentary celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Knebworth gigs premiered in cinemas in 2021.

Knebworth for me was the Woodstock of the ’90s,” said Gallagher at the time.

“It was all about the music and the people. I can’t remember much, but I’ll never forget it. It was Biblical.”

Fans must wait to see if an anniversary show happens. However, a new film will be released alongside the tour. Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight is producing it, and directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace—known for LCD Soundsystem’s 2012 concert film Shut Up and Play the Hits—are directing it.

The rumored lineup includes Andy Bell on bass, Gem Archer on guitar, and fan-favorite Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs on guitar. Joey Waronker, who played with Beck, R.E.M., and Atoms For Peace, is expected on drums.

The Oasis supernova lands in Australia from late October with multiple east coast shows.

As confirmed by Rolling Stone AU/NZ, new Australian dates were added due to high demand.
