Tom Walker slams ‘pathetic’ Noel and Liam Gallagher for not reuniting at One Love Manchester

The Cheshire singer/songwriter has torn into Noel and Liam Gallagher in a new interview for not burying the hatchet, citing their failure to reunite at the 2017 One Love Manchester benefit concert as the moment he lost faith in the pair.

Despite being a self-confessed Oasis fan, 2019 BRIT Award-winner Walker told The Sun this week that the Gallagher brothers ‘just need to sort their stuff out’. ‘It’s like: “Stop arguing.” It’s pathetic at this point. It’s so annoying.’

Walker then brought up Noel and Liam’s failure to reconcile in time for One Love Manchester in June 2017, which honoured the victims of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack. While Liam performed at the Old Trafford gig, Noel didn’t – with organisers later clarifying that ‘neither Noel nor Oasis were ever going to perform’. Noel, however, did give his blessing for his songs to be performed at One Love Manchester and donated his royalties from Don’t Look Back In Anger to the fundraising efforts. He also later headlined the We Are Manchester gig when the Arena re-opened in September 2017. Walker, however, was not impressed with their Oasis pair’s failure to unite on stage at One Love Manchester.

‘When they didn’t get together for the Manchester gig I was so, so upset at them,’ Walker recalled. ‘They are the voice of Manchester. ‘There’s nobody that could bring the people of Manchester back together more than those two.’ Walker said he was ‘upset’ by the fact that the Gallaghers ‘couldn’t put their petty arguments aside for one day’. ‘I’m kind of done with them,’ he added.
