The sketch mocked the dynamic pricing controversy and long ticket queues.
James Buckley and Joe Thomas, stars of “The Inbetweeners,” played Liam and Noel Gallagher in a parody film for Comic Relief.
After several hints, Comic Relief revealed that Buckley and Thomas would reunite for the charity show.
The sketch, titled “Oasis: The Reunion: The Movie,” aired on BBC One on March 21. The actors, known for playing Simon and Jay in “The Inbetweeners,” portrayed the Gallagher brothers.
The film traced their infamous 2009 breakup to their reunion. According to the parody, Noel rejoined after “maxing out his credit card,” while Liam was told he was broke by his accountant, played by money-saving expert Martin Lewis. This forced them to call each other to “make big money.”

After reconciling, they argued over the setlist and tried to reunite the band by calling “everyone in Manchester,” including Bez from Happy Mondays and some Coronation Street stars.
The parody also mocked the ticket controversy, with Piers Morgan playing “the ticket master.” A fan was shown stuck in a long queue until they turned into a skeleton before reaching checkout.
Celebrity cameos included Hugh Dennis, Micky Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Mark Silcox, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, Tommy Fury, and Roisin Conaty.
Social media reactions were mixed. Some fans called the sketch “absolute cinema,” “brilliant,” and “lowkey funny.” Others found it “one of the unfunniest things ever on Comic Relief” or “terrible.”
In 2021, Buckley told NME that his first concert was Oasis at Finsbury Park in 2002. “The first and best gig I’ve ever been to,” he said.
“The support was incredible: The Charlatans, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cornershop, The Coral… it felt like 30 bands were playing. Doors opened at noon, and I thought, ‘I have to be there right away. I can’t miss Oasis!'”
“I thought every gig was like that. That night, Oasis were the greatest band in the world. A reunion? If The Stone Roses reunited, then any band could.”
Now the reunion is real. NME spoke to sources close to the upcoming tour, revealing the band lineup: Andy Bell on bass, Gem Archer and Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs on guitar, and Joey Waronker on drums.
The Oasis are nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, alongside New Order, The White Stripes, and Mariah Carey, but Liam still calls the honor “for wankers.”
