Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton reunited in grief over the death of their dog, Ruby.

The 48-year-old Oasis singer shared the sad news on social media on Tuesday, February 2.

Gallagher tweeted a photo of himself holding Ruby, captioned: “Just lost this little girl tonight, absolutely gutted RIP RUBY aka SPARKLE x.”

All Saints singer Appleton, 46, replied: “Oh Liam…I’m in bits…our beautiful little Ruby Tuesday…. #sparkle.”

The couple, who divorced in 2014, had bought Ruby during their marriage. They also owned another dog, named Brigitte Bardot, after the famous French actress.

Ruby’s name was inspired by the Rolling Stones song “Ruby Tuesday.”

Appleton paid tribute to Ruby on Instagram, writing: “I can’t even…my beautiful baby girl Ruby Tuesday has passed away. I feel physically sick and incredibly heartbroken. I can’t believe it.”

TV presenter Holly Willoughby sent her condolences: “Oh darlin… sending you so much love…”

Gaby Rosling, TV presenter, commented: “Oh no! I am so sorry Nic. She was so special. Sending you huge love and many hugs.”

Gallagher and Appleton started dating in 2000 and had their son Gene in July 2001.

They married in 2008 but divorced in 2014 after reports that Gallagher was expecting a child with journalist Liza Ghorbani.
