Liam Gallagher calls for Oasis reunion in New Year message

Liam Gallagher has called for an Oasis reunion in a New Year message to his brother and former bandmate, Noel Gallagher.

The Britpop giants split in 2009 due to ongoing tensions between Liam and Noel, which peaked during a festival show in Paris.

Since then, Liam has expressed his desire for a reunion several times. In March last year, he asked Noel if they would consider a one-off charity gig after the coronavirus crisis.

In a February interview with NME, Liam said an Oasis reunion is “gonna happen.”

Liam Gallagher has called for an Oasis reunion in a New Year message to his brother and former bandmate, Noel Gallagher.

“Believe you me – it’s gonna happen very soon. He’s greedy, loves money, and knows it must happen soon or never,” he stated, referring to a potential big payday for him and his brother.

On December 31, Liam extended an olive branch to Noel once again. He tweeted, “I love my brother long time” and said, “2021 is our year,” hinting that Oasis could reunite this year.

In 2019, Foo Fighters suggested during their Reading Festival performance that fans should petition for an Oasis reunion.

The idea came after Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins stuck a photograph of Liam and Noel Gallagher on his kick drum.

“One of these days we’ll get Oasis back,” Hawkins said, after Dave Grohl took over drums for a rendition of Queen’s “Under Pressure.”

“We’re trying,” Grohl claimed.
