BREAKING NEWS: OASIS’ manager says there will be NO NEW MUSIC from the band, and that this is their FINAL TOUR.
In a new interview with Music Week, manager Alec McKinlay opened up about whether fans can expect new music from Oasis and another tour down the road – something which McKinlay says is not going to happen.
“This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press,” McKinlay said. “It’s a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to.”
“No, there’s no plan for any new music,” he added.
This comes despite rumours that Liam and Noel Gallagher are working on a new album – a rumour fueled by Liam Gallagher when he tweeted last year that Oasis had “already finished” a new album. Sometime later, however, Liam admitted he “was f*cking joking” and did it for “a laugh”.
In a recent interview with NME, though, Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones also revealed that Noel had been in the studio working on new material. “I’m assuming he’s doing some writing for either his stuff or if they’re [Oasis] gonna bring out a couple songs, I don’t know,” Jones said.
As for now, according to McKinlay, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up and instead just enjoy the reunion shows later this year.
