Liam Gallagher responds to the alleged ‘huge offer’ for Oasis to reform for Slane Castle gig

Liam Gallagher has shot down claimed that Oasis have been offered a huge sum of money to reform for a show at Slane Castle – but says that he is always game for a reunion.

Bookies recently slashed the odds of the Britpop giants reuniting for a special gig at Slane Castle to coincide with the 25th anniversary of their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’. The band were reportedly offered a lucrative sum to reunite for a massive show at the Dublin venue and Irish promoters MCD later confirmed that a deal was tabled for their return.

It was previously claimed that £20million had been offered.

“We promote Liam, and we promote Noel. Liam has always said someday they will [reform]”, MCD boss Denis Desmond told Extra.IE. “They’ve played Slane with R.E.M., there’s always an offer on the table, and they know it. It goes up every week. And they know that as well.”

However, a reunion still seems as unlikely as ever. When one fan asked Liam about the supposed ‘deal on the table’, Gallagher replied: “No deal, no table, but like I’ve said before I’m ready to go.”
