Liam Gallagher used his Twitter account to send “big love” to his bandmate Bonehead after cancer diagnosis.
Liam Gallagher has sent heartfelt support to Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, after the former Oasis guitarist revealed he has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.
Bonehead, one of the founding members of Oasis, announced the news on April 26 via Twitter. In the message, he explained that he would take a break from performing while undergoing treatment.
“Just to let you all know I’m going to be taking a break from playing for a while,” he wrote.
“I’ve been diagnosed with tonsil cancer, but the good news is it’s treatable and I’ll be starting a course of treatment soon.”
“I’m gutted I’m missing the gigs with Liam and the band. Have the best summer and enjoy the gigs if you’re going, I’ll see you soon xxx.”
Liam Gallagher Responds with Love and Support
Liam Gallagher quickly responded with a touching message of solidarity, posting on Twitter:
“Sending BIG love to the 1 n only Bonehead and his family wishing you a speedy recovery. We’re all thinking of you, rasta. You’ll be back on stage before you can say ‘Are we doing Columbia?’ LG x”
The bond between Liam and Bonehead remains strong, especially after years of live collaborations during Liam’s solo career.
Bonehead’s Long History with Liam Gallagher
Since leaving Oasis in 1999 during the recording of “Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants”, Bonehead has worked on solo projects and performed with bands like Beady Eye and Sek Loso.
He rejoined Liam Gallagher for key live performances in recent years. These include the iconic 2018 show at London Stadium, where Liam opened for The Rolling Stones, and the 2020 “Down By The River Thames” livestream concert performed on a barge during COVID lockdowns.
His presence on stage has remained a fan favorite and a nostalgic connection to Oasis‘ classic era.
