“At these events I just run up to everyone and beg it man just met ronan keaton are you mad [sic]”, tweeted Stormzy.
Despite the spelling error, Ronan tweeted the Shut Up rapper back, saying: “Nice to meet ya Man.”
Back at the Tate Modern, after admitting to being “a little bit drunk”, Stromzy told the crowd: “It’s such a blessing to be here.
“In a room full of so many legends, I got a selfie with Ronan Keating, are you mad?”
And Stormzy wasn’t the only artist who was excited about meeting the Boyzone legend.
Liam Gallagher, who was presented with the rock ‘n’ roll star award at the ceremony, was also delighted to meet Ronan.
When Liam took to the stage to collected his award, he said: “A lot of people have got a lot to say these days and obviously I have, but not tonight because I’ve drunk a little bit too much champagne.
“As Stormzy said, you’ve got a selfie with Ronan Keating, I got a handshake off him.”
Later that evening, the GQ awards Twitter account quoted Liam’s, to which the Boyzone singer responded: “Ha ha ha love you guys. This new record is getting better by the minute”, teasing that the unlikely trio could be working on a song together.
