Oasis with Ozzy and Mariah Carey are included in the list of the nominees for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Oasis, Ozzy and Mariah Carey are among the nominees for the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Britpop band received a nomination last year but did not earn induction.
Now, Oasis return to the nominee list, alongside the iconic US singer.
Oasis Back on the List
The Manchester rockers, led by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, split in 2009.
Later this year, the band will return to the stage for a UK tour.
Fans know Oasis for massive hits like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, and Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
Despite a 2024 nomination, they did not join the Hall last year.
Instead, artists like Ozzy Osbourne and Peter Frampton were inducted, along with Cher.
First-Time Nominees in 2025
More than half of this year’s nominees are first-timers.
Bad Company, featuring Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs, and Raymond “Boz” Burrell, joins the list.
Also newly nominated are:
Billy Idol, Chubby Checker, and hip hop duo OutKast.
The ballot also features Joy Division/New Order, The White Stripes, and Cyndi Lauper.
Lauper performed at Glastonbury last year. Currently, she is on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour.
Rock and Roll Hall Statement
John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, praised the diverse nominees.
He said: “These remarkable nominees created their own musical style and attitude.”
“They have impacted generations and contributed to the evolution of rock and roll.”
How Inductees Are Chosen
A panel of over 1,200 artists, historians, and industry professionals casts votes.
They consider an artist’s impact on music culture, influence on other musicians, and career longevity.
This year’s induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles during the autumn.
