Oasis’ classic hit from 1995 ‘Wonderwall’ has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

The 1995 single, which peaked at Number Two on the UK Singles Chart, reached this milestone during the 25th anniversary of “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?”. It is the first 1990s track to achieve this record.

To celebrate, Oasis released a special vinyl reissue of the legendary album.
“(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” Climbs the Charts Again
Thanks to the reissue, the album is now Number Three on the UK Albums Chart and Number One on the Vinyl Albums Chart.
The album also reached its highest position since August 1996, with a 640% increase in weekly sales.
Noel Gallagher Reflects on the Album’s Legacy
Speaking recently, Noel Gallagher said:
“When we recorded [the album], nobody knew that was our moment. I thought our moment was the next one.”
“I listened to “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” today on the train. I thought, ‘Wow, this was my second album attempt, and the first one wasn’t bad either.’ It’s been 25 years, and in another 25, we’ll still be talking about it.”
Michael Spencer Jones Recalls Band’s Infamous Fight
Photographer Michael Spencer Jones recalled the band’s heated argument during the album recording.
“It was chaos. The destruction in Liam’s room was like nothing I’d ever seen.”
He added:
“Noel wanted me to drive him to Paul Weller’s house in London. But I couldn’t, as I had been drinking. The band quickly disappeared, and everyone thought, ‘Is this the end?’”
