Rumours Could Liam Gallagher be set for a slot at Glastonbury 2020’s John Peel tent?

Liam Gallagher has been eyeballing a slot for Glastonbury Festival‘s 50th anniversary next year for quite some time now.

The former Oasis frontman has already confirmed he’s “gonna be” going to Glastonbury Festival in 2020 for its 50th anniversary, even though he has “not been asked” to play, yet.

In an interview with GQ last month – when asked if after two consecutive appearances at the Festival he’d be looking to make it a hat-trick for the Festival’s 50th anniversary. Liam replied “Fuckin’ hell, why not? I’ll play it again. I’m not arsed about headlining. I’ve fuckin’ done all that. I’ll put it out there: I’ll play a tent anywhere. A little small gig in a little sweaty tent will do me, man.” He continued – “…But I’m certainly not arsed about f*ckin’ headlining or being on another stage. Get me in a fuckin’ little moody tent and it’s f*ckin’ sweating, it’ll go off.” Now, in a reply to a fan on Twitter pleading him to “Please play at Glastonbury,” – Gallagher said, “I want to nothing big like just a cheeky little slot in a tent”.

Responding to Liam’s comment, fans on Twitter had started to speculate whether the 47-year-old RocknRolla could well be set for a Glastonbury 2020 slot at the John Peel tent (It is a tent after all, and it does get somewhat sweaty in there from time to time).

Meanwhile, Paul McCartney was the first headliner to be announced for the 2020 edition of the Festival and joins Diana Ross who was officially confirmed earlier this year as Glastonbury’s 50-anniversary ‘Legends’ slot performer – while Mike Skinner and Carl Cox are the two latest big-scale artists to self-confirm for the Festival’s 2020 bill.

Despite the fact that the full line-up for Glastonbury 2020 has yet to be released – all tickets for the Festival’s 50th anniversary have now sold out, with General Admission tickets selling out in 33 minutes, following Coach + Ticket Packages which sold out in just 27 minutes.
