To mark 14 years since Oasis released Stop The Clocks best of, we recall the moment when Liam Gallagher says he’d never heard Acquiesce’s second verse.

This week marks 14 years since Oasis released “Stop The Clocks” best-of album.
Released on November 20, 2006, the compilation featured not their greatest hits but their favorite tracks so far.
The tracklist, curated by Noel Gallagher, included singles, album tracks, and B-sides. It focused on “Definitely Maybe” and “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”. Only a few songs from “Don’t Believe The Truth”, “Standing on the Shoulder of Giants”, and “Heathen Chemistry” were included, while “Be Here Now” was completely omitted.
With HMV orders, fans received a bonus disc featuring an interview with Liam and Noel, showcasing their classic sibling rivalry.
During the interview, they discuss “Some Might Say”, and Noel notes that Liam never sings the second verse live. Liam responds, “I’ve never heard of it. What? You wrote another verse?”.
When asked why he doesn’t like it, Liam replies, “It’s not that I don’t like it, I’ve never heard of it”. He adds, “The guy who puts the lyrics in front of me obviously cut it. I just sing what I read, man”.
Noel, who wrote the song, is both amused and annoyed. This exchange between them is pure magic.
Whether Liam genuinely didn’t know the lyrics or was just winding his brother up, their banter is legendary. It perfectly hints at their turbulent relationship.
