Liam Gallagher will be this week’s surprise voice for Manchester tram announcements.
The former Oasis frontman will surprise tram passengers with announcements across the Bee Network, Greater Manchester’s integrated public transport system. This special event celebrates both the Bee Network and the upcoming Beyond the Music Festival.
A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher said:
“Liam’s doing his bit to support the festival and encourage people to visit the city. He loved the idea of surprising tram users and was able to choose his favourite line. You’ll have to hop on a tram to find out which one it is!”
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham added:
“It means a lot that Liam has done this. Supporting our music venues and improving public transport to gigs is so important. I’m sure Liam’s voice will brighten many journeys and bring plenty of smiles.”
Beyond the Music Festival: What to Expect
The Beyond the Music Festival takes place in Manchester from October 11-14.
This new event focuses on emerging music, grassroots venues, and developing new talent. It aims to support the music and content industries across the UK and beyond.
Over 100 artists will perform at 17 grassroots venues throughout Manchester.
One festival highlight is a free day of concerts titled ‘Music for Everyone’, organised in partnership with Lush.
The festival will end with a secret gig sponsored by The Face.
Liam Gallagher and BRIT Awards Feud Resurfaces
In other news, comedian Peter Kay recently spoke about a past feud with Liam Gallagher.
He suggested he might be banned from presenting at future BRIT Awards after his 2010 comments about Gallagher.
In his biography TV: Big Adventures On The Small Screen, Kay wrote:
“Liam Gallagher won an award, threw it into the audience and walked off. I thought, ‘What a knobhead,’ and said so on stage.”
