Speaking to Matt Wilkinson on Beats One when he dropped the bombshell.
The 46-year-old was asked in a fan-submitted question if there existed a studio version of him singing Oasis classic Donโt Look Back in Anger from 1995.
Oasisโs second biggest track after Wonderwall, it was the first song recorded for an album sung by Noel โ setting a trend for later Oaiss albums.
While admitting he couldnโt remember recording a version of the mega-hit, Liam was open to the idea a demo might exist.
Boasting if it was released it would โstill be number one nowโ โ the Oasis frontman said he reckons Noel would be keeping a secret copy of the demo.
Liam said: โIf there is a version, I guarantee our kidโs got it and heโs probably got security on it 24/7.
โHe wonโt want that coming out โ he knows I was in my prime then.โ
Wilkinson jokes Noel would have it locked up in a vault under a bank โ to which Liam then said โunder his tongueโ.
Liam was quizzed by Wilkinson on a rumour attributed to a unnamed studio technician who worked on (Whats The Story) Morning Glory?.
It is alleged the singer had recorded a demo version of the track back in 1995.
He has since once performed it live with an emotional a cappella version at Glastonbury in 2017.
And when quizzed, Liam was unsure if he would ever sing it again, saying he was happy to leave it as a one time “special” performance.

Liam said: โI donโt remember me singing it. But I remember it being a toss up between the two โ that or Wonderwall.
โI should have sang it because I am the singer.โ
He added: โI donโt remember singing it. But if there was a version of me singing it it would have been mega.
โWe would have gone with it and it would still be number one now.โ
Liam then mused there canโt exist a version because it would have been too good to keep quiet.
โI know for a fact I would have nailed it,โ he said.
He then concluded that if there was a version Noel must have a copy of it and would be keeping it under lock and key.
