Liam Gallagher says he hasn’t seen his older brother Noel in ‘about 10 years’.
Liam Gallagher has revealed that he hasn’t seen his brother Noel in about a decade.
Despite sharing a legendary past with Oasis, the brothers remain estranged.
From Britpop Icons to Silent Strangers
Together, Liam and Noel Gallagher formed one of the most iconic British bands of all time.
With Noel writing the anthems and Liam delivering them, Oasis became a global phenomenon.
However, their relationship fell apart in 2009.
That year, a backstage fight at Rock en Seine led Noel to quit the band for good.
“The last time I saw Noel was at a football match about 10 years ago,” Liam told Esquire.
“It’s a shame, isn’t it?”
Liam Still Hopes for an Oasis Reunion
Although the brothers haven’t spoken in years, Liam Gallagher hasn’t lost hope.
“I like to think Oasis will get back together,” he said.
“But not this week.”
He added with a smirk:
“The door is ajar on everything… I wouldn’t be surprised if aliens landed tomorrow.”
While Liam stays open, fans know a reunion depends heavily on Noel’s willingness.
Noel Gallagher Doesn’t Seem Interested
Noel Gallagher, now fronting High Flying Birds, has repeatedly dismissed reunion rumors.
Back in 2020, Liam claimed Noel rejected a £100 million offer for a reunion.
Noel denied this and called the claim “ludicrous”.
“There isn’t £100 million in the music business between all of us,” he joked on The Jonathan Ross Show.
He continued:
“I’ll do it for £100 million… but it would just be for showbiz.”
According to him, the band’s original spirit can’t be recreated.
“You can’t put that genie back in the bottle,” he said.
Separate Paths, Same Passion
As both artists focus on solo careers, fans will have to settle for separate shows.
Liam Gallagher is releasing his third album “C’mon You Know” and will perform two massive gigs at Knebworth.
The venue holds special meaning.
In 1996, Oasis played to 250,000 people over two nights—cementing their place in history.
For now, it seems that history will remain untouched.
