Liam Gallagher has hit out at the UK government over the suggestion that artists may have to adjust or retrain amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Liam Gallagher has responded to Rishi Sunak’s interview about artists needing to adapt during the pandemic.

The former Oasis frontman criticized the UK government’s suggestion that musicians should retrain to survive the crisis.

The UK music scene has suffered since March. No festivals, concerts, or large events have happened since lockdown began.

Liam Gallagher reacted on Twitter after Rishi Sunak suggested creatives may need to “adapt” during these tough times.

He wrote:

“So the dopes in gov telling musicians and people in arts to retrain… become massive c**** like you nah.”

He ended his tweet with his signature line: “C’mon you know LG x”.

Gallagher is not the only one criticizing the UK government’s stance on the arts.

Dave Rowntree from Blur also shared his thoughts on Rishi Sunak’s comments.

He said:

“The idea that the arts are optional is wrong. They bring in major foreign currency for the UK.”

Liam Gallagher Previously Mocked Lockdown Rules

In September, Liam Gallagher mocked England’s “rule of six” regarding gatherings during lockdown.

He joked about hosting a party in his tipi:
“6 people in your house… same rule for a TP? 24 hour party TP c’mon you know LG x”.

Some fans noticed he wore his face mask incorrectly, leaving his nose uncovered.

Gallagher Stays Quiet About Ian Brown’s Anti-Lockdown Views

Ian Brown, frontman of The Stone Roses, made headlines for anti-lockdown and anti-vaccine tweets.

He wrote:
“NO LOCKDOWN NO TESTS NO TRACKS NO MASKS NO VAX #researchanddestroy.”

When a fan asked Liam Gallagher for his opinion, he stayed quiet. He simply replied: “Ooh trick question.”
