Noel attended the awards ceremony with his wife Sara Macdonald and his daughter Anais Gallagher, as they posed for a picture with Noel’s award.
President of the BMI Awards Mike O’Neill previously explained the award and why Noel was being given the honour.
He said, “Noel Gallagher is one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation. His originality and authenticity have inspired musicians and fans around the world, both as the songwriting genius behind Oasis and as a solo artist. We’re incredibly honoured to recognise Noel’s achievements and present him with the BMI President’s Award.”
Other songwriters who have won the award includes Adam Levine, Pink, Jay Kay, Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson.
