Noel Gallagher hits out at Oasis bandmates

Noel Gallagher has hit out at Oasis bandmates, calling Tony McCarroll an “idiot” that “had to go, and says “you can’t reason” with Liam Gallagher.

Noel spoke about Oasis during an interview with Dermot O’Leary on Reel Stories.

He said:

“There was never a point in Oasis where we were all getting on! Never. I joined last and even I remember on the first day thinking ‘He’s a fucking idiot. That drummer, he’s got to go. He’s an idiot.’ So even from the very first rehearsal I was like…When the music wasn’t enough was when I just said ‘I’m out, see you later.

When asked if he had played the Paris concert instead of walking off, would Oasis still be together now, Noel responded:

“I think yeah, probably. I think if we’d done that gig, yeah, we’d have probably had a year off and then just…But what would usually happen at the end of a tour is everybody would leave the band! ‘I’m leaving, that’s it!’ And then you’d have six months off and then someone would be like ‘What aren’t we doing anything?’ ‘Yeah but haven’t you left?’ ‘Aah. Yeah I just meant leave for a bit!’ If he (Liam) wasn’t my brother we’d have probably got on better! The fact that me and him are brothers, it only really meant we could say things to each other that no one else could say. But I would never put my arm around him and say ‘you might wanna do this’ or ‘you might wanna do that’ because he’s not the kind of guy that you can reason with. But I’m glad that it happened, and it was meant to happen for a reason. I absolutely believe that. We were seen as pretty good when we were together. That band. We’re fucking twice thebans we are now, we’ve been split up for ten years. Because you’re like, you know, you’re not around and people know what they’ve missed.”
