Noel Gallagher has recently talked about his fears of having Christmas ruined by a new family member… His dog.
The singer hates the festive season and says this year will be his most stressful yet: he is moving house and getting a new family pet. He said โI do try and get out of it. I try and work up to five to eleven on Christmas Eve so I donโt have to get involved. But this Christmas is going to be one of the worst because weโre moving house and – and Iโve been blagged into getting a dog.โ
Noel was speaking on DJ Ken Bruceโs BBC Radio 2 show. When it was suggested the animal would be a lovely addition to the family Noel, who has two young sons with second wife Sara, disagreed: โMy wife loves you – sheโs from Edinburgh and sheโll be listening to this thinking โthe miserable…โ Iโm not particularly fond of them. I donโt mind other peopleโs dogs. Itโs going to be very stressful moving house at Christmas with a new dog, which is effectively a new child.โ
Noel then added: โThe commercialisation of Christmas gets more about spending money. More importantly it gets more about borrowing money and we wonder why the world is the way it is or people are the way they are. People seem to put so much into it and you get so little out of it.โ
But Gallagher did confess he loves the New Year: โI like the turning of the cycle – we start again and all that.โ
